Mary Reid Kelley - Haus der Berliner Festspiele

Die Künstlerin Mary Reid Kelley eröffnet mit einer Première am späten Abend des 5. Juli 2016 im Haus der Berliner Festspiele die Live Performance „This Is Offal“. Die Première findet um 24:00 Uhr statt.

Der Eintritt zu den Veranstaltungen ist frei.

Die Berliner Galerie Arratia Beer, welche die Künstlerin vertritt, beschreibt die Performance so:

„A pun-filled work of existentialist feminist horror, “This Is Offal” by Mary Reid Kelley and Patrick Kelley ghoulishly enacts Camus’ philosophy of the absurd as a counter to suicide. As the organs liver, heart and brain argue over what happened at night in the pathology room, they also deny any hope of a rational, unified explanation for the most tragic and motivationally complex of human actions. “This Is Offal” is the artists first work for a live audience, debuting at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele.

“This Is Offal” is commissioned as part of Corpus, network for performance practice, and is produced by Playground (STUK Kunstencentrum & M-Museum, Leuven) and co-produced by KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berliner Festspiele / Foreign Affairs.

Corpus is Bulegoa z/b (Bilbao), CAC (Vilnius), KW (Berlin), If I Can’t Dance (Amsterdam), Playground (STUK & M, Leuven), and Tate Modern (London). Corpus is co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.
