Hier die Ausstellungsbeschreibung in englischer Sprache:
„Decomposition and Transcendence“ is a seven video, curated work exploring the continuum of beauty, decay, transformation and rebirth. All seven videos are shown, in a loop, on three monitors and one projector, the whole show is 27 minutes in length.
The show debuted early March in New York City as part of the LIGHT YEAR series, projected onto the Manhattan Bridge, as well as celebrated with a screening and reception at the MINY Media Center by IFP in DUMBO, Brooklyn.
„Decomposition and Transcendence“
As with any system, any given point gives rise to its direct opposite. Idyllic points of reference and anchors of beauty bear hints of inevitable change from their inception. There is no ideal without irony. There is no constancy without rifts of perception. “Decomposition and Transcendence” exists within the transitional states between these opposite poles.
The stuff that balances this system: decay, age, transcendence, re-composition, rebirth and ripening. These are the key terms behind “Decomposition and Transcendence.” These ideas go beyond temporal fashion and physical humanity. Natural and cosmic states can be seen throughout the emphasis on the human figure as a device to create analogous narratives and meanings. Voids become deep textures of detail and rigid rules give way to every-changing silhouettes in which we can glimpse ourselves.
