until 11.08. | #2505ARTatBerlin | Haus am Lützowplatz presents from 21st June 2019 the group exhibition Hey, Mars!, curated by Lydia Korndörfer, with works by A/A (Andreas Greiner & Armin Keplinger), Natalie Körner, PPKK (Sarah Ancelle Schönfeld & Louis-Philippe Scoufaras) and Elisa Storelli.
From 22 June to 11 August 2019, the Studio Gallery in the Haus am Lützowplatz will be transformed into a space station. The exhibition “Hey, Mars!” is dedicated to the newly emerging Mars fever. Only 50 years after the moon landing, the next important space destination is now within reach: By 2027, Mars should not only be entered, but also colonized. What reads like science fiction is reality: colonization plans, infrastructure and technologies for the future Martians have already been developed.

The exhibition sees itself as a playful excursion into the future of mankind on Mars and Earth. While the flight into space is gaining importance and attention as an exit strategy, the future of our planet, society and culture as we know it remains uncertain. Will man find or create a new Earth? What knowledge, what values will be handed down if today, as a consequence of climate change, respect for nature does not become the premise of human action, but the future – on the contrary – is associated with the power to shape planets through terraforming?
