until 21.10. | #1559ARTatBerlin | WERKSTATTGALERIE presents from 12th September 2017 the exhibition “THE OTHER” by the artist Amparo Sard.
The Spanish artist Amparo Sard, born 1973, was recently nominated in the Netherlands by LXRY as one of the 25 most important contemporary artists in the world. In 2015, she was awarded the “Medaglia d’oro dell Governo della Republica d ‘Italia” in Rome and won three times the international art prize of the Deutsche Bank.
In her works on paper, which she produces in a wide variety of formats, Amparo Sard deals, among other things, with her body and the encounter with others – the outside world.
The exhibition “La Otra” was presented for the first time with the support of the Santander Foundation in the ABC Museum in Madrid and later some of these works were exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome. With the exhibition in the Werkstattgalerie Berlin, in which both new and earlier works by her will be exhibited, the artist continues her surgical analyzes of the soul.
Amparo Sard‘s works are in various public collections like Moma (New York), Guggenheim (New York), Deutsche Bank (New York & Berlin), West Collection (Museo de Arte Contemporaneo de Chelsea, New York), Taylers Museum (Holland), Artium Museo, Casal Solleric (Palma de Mallorca), Fundación Loewe, Colección Testimoni, La Caixa, Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró, Fundación SA NOSTRA, Caja de Baleares, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Murcia, Gobierno de Cantabria, Es Baluard Museu d’Art Modern i Contemporani de Palma, CODA Museum and others.
The exhibition is kindly supported by the Embassy of Spain in Berlin.
