until 29.10. | #3580ARTatBerlin | Galerie Gilla Lörcher presents from 16. September 2022 the exhibition M/other by the mexican artist Vanessa Enriquez.

The artist shows a large-format spatial drawing specially developed for the gallery space, which can be experienced both aesthetically and physically by the visitors. Vanessa Enriquez works with discarded magnetic tapes in her art and gives them a new function. Silence as an inner state, but also aspects of disentanglement play a major role for the artist. “Disentangling, separating, examining and detaching. I continue to explore discarded material and reanimate metres of magnetic tape to intervene in the space in a compelling way. The repurposing of these information tapes breaks with their original function, at the same time opening up the potential for aesthetic and symbolic transformation,” says Vanessa Enriquez.
