until 29.11. | #2230ARTatBerlin | Galerie Schwind currently presents a solo exhibition with new paintings by the artist Markus Matthias Krüger.
At the start of Kunstherbst, Gallery Schwind Berlin is opening an exhibition on September 29, 2018 at 3 pm with new works by the Leipzig artist Markus Matthias Krüger. Krüger is completely committed to the landscape. People do not appear on his paintings, but are constantly present in the leftover civilization relics, deserted architecture and domesticated nature. By reducing the pictorial elements to their basic geometric basic forms, the mathematically rigorously constructed perspectives and the endless repetition of motifs, such as straw bales of trees or bricks, the infinite is finally made visible. More and more, the observer gains the impression that the landscape is used by the artist as an intensive field of experimentation for the exploration of form and color, in which he carefully arranges his pictorial forms and the classification into a pure landscape painting is no longer quite suitable. In the tension between old-masterly-fine-painter precision and modern clarity of his compositions Krüger justifies a reinterpretation of the genre and its role as a renewer of contemporary landscape painting.
