until 09.01. | #2295ARTatBerlin | Galerie mutare shows from 1st December 2018 the exhibition Urban landscapes, installations and collages with paintings by Kuisoon Park and collages and objects by Ahu Dural.

From December 1st, the Mutare Gallery will be presenting works by the South Korean painter Kuisoon Park and the Berlin artist Ahu Dural. Both artists live in Berlin, Ahu Dural also in Vienna. The exhibition will be on display until January 9th, 2019.

Kuisoon Park’s pictures look like frozen moments, yet clear and warm. They convey the feeling that time stands still. She is inspired by her surroundings and looks for rooms from which a pleasant calmness emanates. Her expressive, nevertheless minimalistic (urban) landscapes, characterized by an absence of human beings, describe places that exist on the border of daydream and reality. She represents the reality with simple sketches. The colours and the forms are abstracted, so that the reality blurs in the end.

Ahu Dural graduated after her studies in illustrative drawing in performance Art / Sculpture, and has committed herself since then to the threedimensionality; and found in it her “medium”. Since then, it has been installations and collages mainly, with which she expresses her space-filling works. Her artworks have a graphical design access, her explanations often reveal themselves through a graphical perspective. In the focus of Ahu Dural’s work is always the revealing of the relation of art history, architecture and gender. The deliberate graphical inscribing allows thus re-attributions, which negotiate and move identities.
