until 24.02. | #1851ARTatBerlin | Podbielski Contemporary shows from 6th February 2018 the exhibition “Bye Bye Berlin” with artworks by 14 different artists.

Dear friends of Podbielski Contemporary,

We look forward to welcoming you at the opening of our exhibition
Bye Bye Berlin! on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 7 p.m.

Presentation of our esteemed artists:
Andrea Botto, Shadi Ghadirian, Leonora Hamill, Francesco Jodice, Thomas Jorion, Yusuf Knauss, Natascha Kuchli, Andréas Lang, Ohad Matalon, Loredana Nemes, Benjamin Reich, Noga Shtainer, Dubravka Vidovic, Won Seoung WON!

‘Moving Worlds’, Podbielski Contemporary’s opening show in Berlin in 2011, conveyed our awareness of the fast and testing changes of our times.

As we quote Alfredo Jaar on our home page at the very beginning: “The world of culture – museums and universities – is the last place where you are still free to dream of a better world (…). (A.Jaar | Conversations in Chile | 2005 | Mistral, Santiago, ACTAR | Barcelona 2006, | p. 80.)

Seven years down the road, with memorable highlights and unexpected achievements, opening on average five new shows a year and having attended numerous international fairs, the gallery has consolidated its reputation on the contemporary art scene.

Our next step is ‘Moving Works’, a series of shows in major art fairs (London, Turin, Basel, Milan, Amsterdam, etc.), as the gallery moves on and spreads its wings. From March 2018, Podbielski Contemporary will be based in my hometown, Milan, which offers a thriving artistic and cultural environment full of challenges.

Everything that has happened in Berlin is thanks to the many artists, both locally and from afar, who have shared our passion and contributed to building the gallery’s reputation. I am sincerely grateful to them all just as I am to my team, Martina Burgwinkel-Dohmen and Jana Nikolai and to all our competent interns.

Last but not least, I would like to express my deep thanks to all the friends, supporters and collectors who have contributed to making our shows, events and artist talks intellectually stimulating and to all our cooperation partners who have helped us achieve so many shared goals.

I am pleased to welcome you to my last exhibition in Berlin-Mitte,

Pierre André Podbielski

Vernissage: Tuesday, 6th February 2018, from 7:00 p.m.
