until 22.01. | #3253ARTatBerlin | Galerie Martin Mertens presents from 27. November 2021 the solo exhibition Transition with drawings by the artist Bettina Krieg.

During the 2020 Lockdown phases, Bettina Krieg made a series of small ink drawings that she called the Lockdown Diaries series. During the long period of isolation in the studio, she was extremely productive and made a small drawing every day. A very nice catalog has also been produced to go with it.

In addition, she has published a comprehensive catalog of her work and this year has developed a whole new body of work of large drawings in which she uses multiple colors within one work, something she has never done before. The colors that she has always used in previous works only monochrome on one sheet, she now puts next to each other whereby in the overall effect an own colorfulness is created.

The condensed drawings appear to move visually, reminiscent of works of Op Art from the 1960s. For some drawings, this movement is now actually set in motion in a virtual animation (augmented reality AR versions).
