CWC GALLERY is pleased to present the exhibition »Andy Warhol: Fantastic!« From November 24, 2018 onwards. The exhibition includes works by more than 20 international photographic artists who have collaborated with Andy Warhol. The more than 80 portraits of Andy Warhol offer a rare look at the personality of co-founder of Pop Art and one of the most significant artists in history.

The exhibition covers a wide photographic field: from the famous paparazzi photographs by Ron Galella, to spectacular photographic productions by Carl Fischer, to conceptual series by Christopher Makos, whose multi-layered project Altered Image quotes Dadaism and gender discourses around Andy Warho picks up. Each individual work and each exhibited photographic series represents a microcosm of the life of Andy Warhol. The focus is on the artistic synergies that have arisen in the work between him and well-known photographic artists. The factory, founded by Andy Warhol in the early 1960s, also occupies a prominent space in the exhibition. Photographs by Cecil Beaton and Steve Schapiro show rare insights into the inner world of this creative center in New York. The photographs also introduce the artistic environment of Andy Warhol, his companions and the high society that surrounded him.

Berlin-based CAMERA WORK was founded in 1997 and has since become one of the world’s leading galleries for photographic art. CAMERA WORK regularly participates in the world’s most important photo art fairs, including Paris Photo, Photofairs Shanghai, Photofairs San Francisco and Photo London. Founded in 2001, CAMERA WORK AG owns one of the world’s most comprehensive and high-quality photographic art collections in private ownership, with numerous vintage works by the most renowned photographic artists from the 19th century to the present day. In addition to the focus on fashion, nude and portrait photography, CAMERA WORK also focuses on the genres of architecture and still life.
In conjunction with the two galleries CAMERA WORK and CWC GALLERY, which are part of the company, it is possible to present exhibitions worldwide in collaboration with museums, galleries and other art institutions. The extensive collection of photographs and memorabilia on the history of the Kennedy family also prompted the company to found THE KENNEDYS in Berlin in 2006 – the second largest of its kind in the world.
