On March 24, 2018, the Dorothée Nilsson Gallery presents “CASSANDRA / MOTION PATTERNS”, a live performance by Yvon Chabrowski with performers Josephine Findeisen, Martina Garbelli and Thomas Radin.
This performance will be part of the current exhibition “Faces and Movements” by Yvon Chabrowski.
Surveillance systems can not be seen, felt, tasted or smelled. They are invisible and yet there.
In the first act, the live performance CASSANDRA / MOTION PATTERNS recapitulates the invisible image frames that surround our bodies. When is one in the focus of a camera or an algorithm?
In the second act, movements and gestures are performed that feed monitoring systems to assess behavior. Liberated from the complexity of human encounter and reduced to the pattern of movement to which surveillance systems may respond, they are fragmented.
CASSANDRA / MOTION PATTERN questions the observer’s view of the framework conditions of boundaries and freedom.
Performance: Saturday, March 24th, 2018, 5:00 p.m.
