until 30.12. | #1635ARTatBerlin | Galerie JeanMichelBerlin shows from 23rd November 2017 the exhibition “Urban Bag Art, Utopian Civilizations” by the artist THITZ.

The artist, born in 1962, became known for his bag projects. He travels to metropolises around the world. The impressions that the big cities leave behind are reflected in his large-format pictures, which are painted partly on shopping bags. THITZ paints with acrylic paints. His style is realistic, cheerful, playful and ironic, not abstract. Numerous small episodes line up and produce pictures on which the eye can wander for a long time. He uses the writing as a quasi-audiovisual tool. Noises, dialogues, advertisements and moods of a never-resting metropolis are thus brought to the attention of the viewer.

His paintings are shown internationally in galleries and museums and are represented in famous collections, among other things Dr. h. c. August Oetker, Bielefeld, museum of Frieder Burda, Baden-Baden, museum Würth, Künzelsau.

Vernissage: Thursday, 23rd November 2017, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Exhibition period: Thursday, 23rd November to Saturday, 30th December 2017
