until 31.10. | #0654ARTatBerlin | Gudio W. Baudach shows from 16th September 2016 the exhibition “Single” by the artist Yves Scherer.

Guido W. Baudach is pleased to present Yves Scherer’s second solo exhibition at the gallery. Titled “Single”, this show sees a development of his scultural language away from the statical and a continuation of his interest in the porous boundaries between media, virtual space, and everyday life.

Oscillating between recollections from Scherer’s own personal life and common projections, the exhibition is less a take on celebrity culture than previous exhibitions but a much more intimate and personal reflection of the concept or state of the person as a single. With an invitation image featuring the artist as a nude, the project is as much take on the role of the male in our society as it is a play on the Selfie culture of dating platforms and social media, using the exhibition itself as a medium to find a prospective new partner.

Yves Scherer (b. 1987 in Solothurn, CH) is currently based in New York City. He graduated with an M.A. in sculpture from London’s Royal College of Art in 2014 and also holds a B.A. in Sciences of Culture from the University of Lucerne. Recent solo exhibitions and projects include: East of Eden, Galerie Guido W. Baudach, Berlin (2016); Snow White and the Huntsman, José Garcia, Mexico City (2016); Couples, Studiolo, Milan (2015); Honey Moon, Swiss Institute New York (2015), Where Is The Love, ExoExo, Paris (2015); Days at Sea,Carl Kostyal, London (2015); Little Mermaid, Art Parcours, Basel (2015); Closer, Galerie Guido W.
