until 26.10. | #2579ARTatBerlin | Michaela Helfrich Galerie shows from 12th September 2019 the group exhibition Spiel mit der Wirklichkeit (> Playing with reality) with the artists Horst Kistner, Thomas Gatzemeier, Gerard Waskievitz, Simon Czapla and Ulrike Pisch.
Light and colour is the constitutive basis of the works, but they also always have art history in mind. Horst Kistner and Thomas Gatzemeier stand in the long tradition of an artistic attitude and develop their own impressive positions, Gerard Waskievitz mixes existential themes from Berlin city life with well-known Renaissance depictions, Simon Czapla creates a new space of meaning in his painting through the interplay of pictorial material, allusions and associations, Ulrike Pisch surprises with her painterly praise of dreams, chance and spontaneity in a constructive world.
