until 02.11. | #4364ARTatBerlin | Galerie Brockstedt shows from 19. September 2024 the exhibition “Von anderer Wirklichkeit” by the artist Pit Morell.

Why commit myself to peat cutters, ploughing farmers. That’s only part of what I intend to process. What moved me? I used this and that from my life and my way of looking at things. I went through the events. Went through the anterooms, main rooms, side rooms, penetrated the tarmac surface of the streets in and around Worpswede, which again let the brick lattices emerge in places, as they do every spring. Worked my way through half of Jark’s thatched roof, through the milk churns. Stopped at the edge of the path. Looked back at a buzzard flying up. The man sharpening his scythe at the edge of the meadow made me think for a moment. Happy again about everything that had happened, I watched him doing the work he had to do at this time of year. He had done the same thing 365 days earlier and I had thought the same thing. It was as if it had only been yesterday. Seeing him meant happiness. He was standing there, in the meadow that belonged to him, the field of half-high grain behind him. Later I changed what I had seen. Did I see him in Hümme, Hofgeismar, Gottsbüren or where?
