until 29.05. | #2465ARTatBerlin | Stella A. currently presents the exhibition Plan with paintings by the artist Peter Scior.

In this exhibition we are presenting paintings from two new series by Peter Scior. One of those series is about spatial rooms and ties in with the theme of the interior. The deserted rooms are like stages awaiting action. The incoming sunlight is projecting stains and color patches on walls and objects, thereby forming a composition, a plane sketch on a plane- on the wall, on the floor, eventually on the flat canvas.

In the other series boxes can be detected waiting for their assembling. The boxes lie flat on the floor. Here too, the focus is on transitional states, on relocation, on removal into a future situation. The cool paintings of Peter Scior look like film stills referring to past or future situations.

In these as well as in other paintings Scior is focusing on the silent qualities of painting and make them visible. Experiences with abstract painting are echoed in the display of elementary shapes of light and shadow.

„Space is created by light, is defined by it. Light transforms objects into a shape switching between illusion and plane. Light is stronger than things…“ (Peter Scior)

Vernissage: Thursday, 11th April 2019, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Exhibition period: Friday, 12th April – Wednesday, 29th May 2019
