until 13.01. | #4120ARTatBerlin | Galerie Schindler shows from 07. December 2023 the exhibition “Textura” by the artist Jeanette Niebelschütz.

In the TEXTURA exhibition, Potsdam artist Jeanette Niebelschütz is showing her latest works on a very special painting surface. These are carpets in various sizes, which she has collected over a long period of time for her prints. The artist is now embarking on an experimental work in which she uses stencils and printing techniques to apply modern typography to the carpets. The mixture of screen printing and the carpets, which also originate from the oriental world, creates a strong contrast between modernity and tradition. A very special texture is created, not only by the applied color, but also by the woolen and fabric-like material of the carpets, which are transformed here from everyday objects into artistic tapestries.

The characters on the carpets are always of literary origin. Dazzling sentences such as: In the depths of winter I finally learned that within me lies an invincible summer ( Albert Camus), are deconstructed by their uncoordinated printed letters and result in a graphic pattern. It is the great texts of philosophers and poets of this and earlier times that are transformed here into colorful, highly aesthetic images.
This is poetry.

Opening: Thursday 07. December 2023. 6 pm
