“Horst Bartnigs (*1936) painting is not an endless struggle for each moment of change in the picture. He carries out the actions, following his system like a musical score and guiding the subsequent sounds of the colors into a presence that is unusually in tense for contemporary painting. Contrasted with our idea of absolutely precise concentration in the work on the picture, our fascination with the pictures is drawn from their impressions, between synthetic brilliance an devotional proximity to nature. A few pieces are enough to give an impression of how broad the breadth of perceptions imparted in them can be.“
