until 02.12. | #4062ARTatBerlin | Galerie Inga Kondeyne – Raum für Zeichnung shows from  20. October 2023 a solo exhibition with works by the artist Hanns Schimansky.

And again Hanns Schimansky surprises the viewers with another chapter of his incredibly imaginative world of drawings.

“The lineatures, figurations and surfaces in Hanns Schimansky’s drawings have so far been distinguished by the black of the inks and pencils.
The black not only promotes the plastic, which the artist has increased into the spatial through his folds, but leads into something tonal. One could even understand some drawings as scores that could be translated into sounds. In recent times, there has been another transformation: into colour, if you want to call it more precisely, into drawing watercolours. In their language, these new sheets remain familiar to the viewer, but surprisingly new inventions are at the draughtsman’s side. Neither the familiar pen nor pencils are his means, but coloured inks run along folded lines. Some things are controlled, others left to chance.
The coloured drawings are of a serene cheerfulness, which at the same time announces a great inner freedom.”
