Last year, there was an extensive exhibition of the artist Hanna Hennenkemper at Galerie Pankow, Berlin. A comprehensive catalog was published accompanying. Now in this exhibition, the latest works come to view, which were mainly created in the fall of 2017 in the charged atmosphere of Brazil. The working scholarship of the Goethe-Institut in Porto Alegre was under the motto: ‘The Power of Printmaking’. The extremes surrounding them in this country had a great impact on their experimental work. In numerous etchings, white, in the form of tangible objects, turns into almost shimmering, dazzling light, surrounded by the deepest black. Found on pedestals, they remind of a ruined city in the distribution of space. Leaving behind her usual handling of papers, Hanna Hennenkemper u.a. structures burned in this sensitive material over an open fire. Let yourself be surprised.
