until 23.09. | #0644ARTatBerlin | The concept gallery notre gout shows from the 19th August 2016 the exhibition Venustransit with original sketchings by the artist Hamed Eshrat.
Berlin. The crazy everyday-life in this city, love and finding yourself. All of these are things young graphic designer Ben has to deal with in Hamed Eshrat’s graphic novel VENUSTRANSIT after a burnout. The author and drawer who was born in Tehran in 1979 and fled to Germany with his family in 1986 studied visual communiction at Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee and at Massey University in Wellington, NZ. Besides his jobs as a designer and freelance-artist, his work VENUSTRANSIT was published in 2015.
Berlin is way more than just the setting of this comic’s story. The city can be seen in many scenes, for example „Alis Späti“, the famous „Berghain“, or the next place you can get a „Döner“. The story is that likable because the reader can recognize himself in the everyday-places Ben goes to during this graphic novel.
The first concept gallery for comic art „notre goût“ which focusses on artists and illustrators from Berlin, is providing its location for the gallery’s first temporary exhibition. There will be 14 original drawings and also one especially for this occasion designed illustration by Hamed Eshrat which is also available for sale as a high-quality print. It will be an exhibition all about seing Berlin and the struggles of everyday-life through the eyes of a comic artist. Together with Hamed Eshrat who has already been nominated for the comic award of the Berthold Liebinger foundation, there will be an opening party including a signing session on the 19th of August, starting at 7 pm at „notre goût“, Bernauer Straße 8d in Berlin-Mitte. Everyone is welcome.
