until 25.03. | #3785ARTatBerlin | Galerie Inga Kondeyne – Raum für Zeichnung presents from 11 February 2023 the solo exhibition to be continued by the artist H. Frank Taffelt.

In the Allgemeines Künstlerlexikon (De Gryter Saur) the entry ‘H. Frank Taffelt’ can be found. An occasion for the Inga Kondeyne Gallery – which has accompanied H. Frank Taffelt’s work since 2008 – to bring together his various groups of works already exhibited in a solo exhibition.

In early small-format abstract drawings, he initially played through worlds of signs in geometric networks. H. Frank Taffelt became known for his shiny metallic, surface-spanning biros drawings. Preferably, he put layers of his overlapping strokes into square forms. Some series are created, such as the so-called monthly drawings (MMX MENSES, 2010, 119 x 84 cm each). Through the month-specific, dense application and the resistance of the paper, a surprisingly present passage of time of a year presents itself in the successive viewing of the spherical expansions on the drawing skin. Determined excursions with the pens into colour followed – including the five-part series NIGHTFIRE RED & PACIFIC BLUE, 2017-2019.A 2013 exhibition featured his ‘Phantoms of the Grandmother’. From his grandmother’s account and business books, which he kept, H. Frank Taffelt projects the printed lines and staples to scale in the drawings, and populates them with condensed layers of biros strokes layered on top of each other. A framework of lived life is preserved by H. Frank Taffelt along the line divisions over time. For the past two years, H. Frank Taffelt has been working on relief-like objects. Narrow folded strips of paper, glued in line sequences onto various substrates in a structured manner, expand the artist’s mysterious cosmos.
