until 22.07. | #2082ARTatBerlin | galerie1214 shows since 1st July 2018 in the group show „Come from painting“ positions and developments of pictorial motifs by artists of the gallery.
Uta Reinhardt’s “Zwei” (Two, 2010, provenience Collection Gunzenhauser) offers seemingly pure figuration, which grows in fact out of the configuration of colours in a clear schema.
Britta Lumers «Dyad» (2017) is a masterly, multi-perspectivist portrait in ink on paper and canvas, which prepares the portrayed head in the fluid phase out of a Rembrandt blackness. Jessica Buhlmanns «Folded Space» (2016), composed dominantly from forms of green shades an a current background reveals how many of her works the musical impregnation.
Stefan Kees shows one of his strict “Stratifications” (2016): painting in space, in whose geological bandings the luminous, shiny yellow lacquered stays in contrast with a vigorous black. Marie Irmgard presents acrylic works on paper, expressive forms that reward the patience of contemplation with exciting discoveries. Isabelle Borges is represented with a constructivist composition of 2017 that shows a vivid red.
By Wolfgang Betke we show a triptych of forceful energy that combines the semiotic potential of painting with a refined design of the mixed media surfaces.
