until 25.02. | #3739ARTatBerlin | Galerie Schindler in Potsdam presents the exhibition “AM PARADIES VORBEI” by the artist Birgit Borggrebe from 12 January 2023.
Longings and fears are among the basic feelings of people and seem to be particularly pronounced at the moment. At the height of climate change and a turn to uncertain times, Birgit Borggrebe works emotionally on this theme in the painterly process. In the process, she develops new views in her confrontation with paradise-beautiful landscapes and phenomena of environmental destruction.

It is this ambivalence that inspires her. The fragility of the beautiful world becomes visible. Humans, flora and fauna pave their way – sometimes into the light, sometimes into ruin.

Transposed into wonderful, colorful imagery that captivates the viewer, sometimes rosy and floral then almost gloomy with threatening scenery. Birgit Borggrebes art does not want to please, it wants to open eyes and show how beautiful our world can be and how threatened it is.
