until 28.03. | #4170ARTatBerlin | ChertLüdde shows from 16. February 2024 three solo-exhibitions by the artists Agnes Scherer, Rosemary Mayer and Theresa Weber.

ChertLüdde invites the viewer to a joint opening reception for the three solo exhibitions of Agnes Scherer, Rosemary Mayer, and Theresa Weber. From an exploration into court rituals to floral tributes to the memory of goddesses of the past, all of these shows respond to the rise of feminism as it intersects with art history.

Agnes Scherer | Savoir Vivre

For her upcoming exhibition titled Savoir Vivre, Agnes Scherer (1985, Germany) transformed the gallery into a medieval jousting tournament in order to problematize the persistence of the culture of “courtly love” with a Papier-mâché installation. Climate issues also charge to the surface as early deforestation and environmental exploitation in Europe are traced back in time.

Rosemary Mayer | You can’t pin down a flower for very long

This is Rosemary Mayer’s (1943-2014, USA) second solo exhibition at a gallery and the first since her major traveling exhibition Ways of Attaching brought her work to a broader, International audience. Gathering largely unseen drawings, watercolors, and photographs of flowers, the show summons the passage of seasons. It also hosts a revival of Mayer’s temporary sculpture Roses (1981).

Theresa Weber | Universe of the Hybrids

In Universe Of The Hybrids, Theresa Weber (1996, Dusseldorf) transforms Bungalow into a cosmos of unfixed and ever-changing identities. Set against an ever-globalizing world, where boundaries of racial and cultural identity continue to mix, this exhibition gathers mythos from the past that already welcome the hybrid nature of life.
