until 02.10. | #3153ARTatBerlin | Semjon Contemporary shows from 4. September 2021 (Opening: 03.09.) the exhibition X : Y – Construction of the Modern: The Berlin Collection Dr. Carl Theodor Gottlob Grouwet (1919).

“The current walls of the Staßen-Salon and Kleines Kabinett were built in 2010 for Construction of the Modern (KdM) in what was then KioskShop berlin (KSb). As a contemporary gesamtkunst-werk by me, it was open to the public from 2000 – 2011, and was very well attended, and an unique part of the Berlin Art World.

Coming October, the walls will be dismantled in order to expose  KioskShop slumbering behind it and to bring it to life and to show it to the public again before it is presumably destroyed if an amicable rental agreement with Berggruen Holding is not reached.
The tragedy is: KioskShop and Construction of the Modern have probably drawn the attention of the major investor and art lover Nicolas Berggruen to the building.

Whatever the situation will be at the end of the year: I wish you a nice end of the summer and a good start into the Kunstherbst.”
