until 13.10. | #2172ARTatBerlin | Galerie Tammen & Partner currently shows the art autumn exhibition by the painters Michael Ramsauer and Lars Theuerkauff.

Michael Ramsauer – Painting

It has been two years since we presented the painter Michael Ramsauer with a big single show in Berlin. In this year’s Kunstherbst we present it together with the artist, also from North Germany, Lars Theuerkauff. The two got to know each other in Berlin and appreciated, and so was the date of a joint exhibition sometime obvious.

His paintings, which deal with the themes of mythology, and those of very impasto black figures, have become a trademark, and we are pleased to be able to show new works from both subjects. Whereby this time certainly a focus will be on the black oil paintings. Even in his 2016 opulent exhibition catalog Dieter Ronte, Bonn noted very aptly: “Because in addition to their universality, the images carry the traditions in themselves, not as quotes, but as a knowledge framework for the composition.”

Lars Theuerkauff – Painting

In 2018, the artist Lars Theuerkauff mainly worked on three thematic series: “Omega”, “Dance” and “Passion”. “Lars Theuerkauff in particular announces with” Passion “how important he is to shift the tendency of pixel pointillism toward A tendency that continues to the most recent creations, differentiated and refined so much that the artist thus reaches a new level in his work. Again, the stock of images of the Internet is a crucial resource from which Theuerkauff The arrangement of the figures, their bodies or body parts becomes visually striking, sensuousness and seduction heat up the temperature of the formal world, but it is neither the dark skin nor the sexual orientation to which Theuerkauff stands out.

It is not the questions of identity formation that drive him, but rather the acute threat to the human or ideas of the general
Emancipation to man. Theuerkauff questions himself, deeper and deeper in the ways of the picture. A motive is
with him only a drop in the stream of reality. But everything that arises from the color can be a physical back and inner view, a problem of the material and at the same time self-exploration. This, however, is less than an all-contradictory answer to itself. Instead, it is the admission of a sense of provisionality. So Lars Theuerkauff will neither give up nor stop showing his audience how contradictory we are. Because he does not want to postpone his hope for change, he rises without interruption and without compromise in the stream of color. “(Quoted by Christoph Tannert)
