Photographs by artist Maxime Ballesteros will be shown from 8 to 9 September 2018 in the rooms of the CIRCLE CULTURE in Mitte. The exhibition was made possible in collaboration with Ruptly.

2018 marks five years since Ruptly made its debut on the media landscape. To celebrate the anniversary, the news agency is curating an exhibition with photographer and Berlin subculture darling Maxime Ballesteros, who has taken a series of portraits showcasing the company’s dynamic team.

HINTERGRÜNDE, which translates as ‘Backgrounds’, pays tribute to the unique blend of characters and cultures that shape Ruptly.

From sunny parks to cozy bars, the eclectic group takes you on a tour of Berlin, a place that has welcomed diversity and creativity with open arms. For many, the city has allowed this international group to flourish, through the rooted values that they collectively share.

One of Ruptly’s own has said that, “Berlin is the place where I feel home, where I feel free and accepted in all my different moods”. While another long time team member echoed that, “I always felt out of place as a first-generation immigrant in America and now I have found a place where people share my values”.

HINTERGRÜNDE is a homage to the forward-thinking individuals who are helping shape the way we access news today.
