until 06.05. | #1998ARTatBerlin | The GalerieETAGE of Rathaus-Galerie Reinickendorf currently shows an exhibition in remembrance of the artist Thomas Harndt with landscape, still life and portrait.

District Councilor Katrin Schultze-Berndt (CDU) invites you to the exhibition: In Memory of Thomas Harndt – Landscape, Still Life and Portrait.

Thomas Harndt created works of art that touch us. He occupied himself throughout his life with subjects such as landscape, still life and portrait, his artistic execution of these themes was unmistakable. His works are characterized by their size and format, the type of brush stroke and the application of paint. The special feature of the pictures is the delicacy with which he painterly embraces his motifs. He devoted the greatest attention to landscape painting.

The exhibition was planned for the 85th birthday of Thomas Harndt, which should be celebrated in November 2017. A year earlier, in October 2016, Thomas Harndt died suddenly and unexpectedly. Now the presentation, whose concept was discussed together with him and whose organization and implementation was then continued with his wife Susanne Harndt, shows an overview of his life’s work.

“Thomas Harndt was closely associated with Reinickendorf as a painter, but also as a patron of the arts. With presentations in the Rathaus-Galerie and the Humboldt-Bibliothek, his paintings won many friends in the district’s art-interested audience. From 2004 to 2011, Thomas Harndt made it possible for young artists in cooperation with the district to exhibit in the former studio of the sculptor Volkmar Oellermann. For this commitment, which he shared with his wife Susanne Harndt, we are very grateful to him, “says Katrin Schultze-Berndt, District Councilor for Building, Education and Culture.
