until 10.09. | #3108ARTatBerlin | rk-Galerie at the town hall Lichtenberg currently presents the group exhibition “Spitting Diamonds” with paintings by four young master students.
“Spitting Diamonds” is the title of the new exhibition at the rk Gallery for Contemporary Art in Lichtenberg Town Hall. The four young artists Daniel Bonaudo-Ewinger, Okka-Esther Hungerbühler, Aneta Kajzer and Marta Vovk are graduates of various German and international art academies. In the exhibition, they present different possibilities of contemporary painting with oil painting in classical format, installative arrangements, transgressions of form and motorised sculptures.

The title of the exhibition “Spitting Diamonds” is a possible metaphor for the artistic process, the result of which becomes visible to viewers and artists after a long period of work in the studio. Under high pressure and deep inside the earth, diamonds are formed through a complex process of creation that also takes place in secret. The highly concentrated result becomes visible through a volcanic eruption, which catapults the diamonds from a depth of approx. 500 km to the earth’s surface in a very short time.
