NOW. HERE. CONTEMPORARY. | Group Exhibition | ARTES Berlin | 03.02.-16.03.2024

until 16.03. | #4146ARTatBerlin | ARTES Berlin shows from 3rd February 2024 the exhibition NOW. HERE. CONTEMPORARY. with works by the female artists Ruri Matsumoto and Nari Jo and the male artists Thomas Röthel and Hannes Uhlenhaut.

Figurative, abstract, gestural, calm, wild or organised – the group exhibition shows a wide range of current positions and reflects the changes in the 21st century: Genres and material are no longer on opposing sides, instead they merge into a creative dialogue. What characterises their artistic processes and living environments are the heterogeneous influences. The variety of materials and tools used leads to new structures, new textures and new colours.

With their paintings, Ruri Matsumoto and Nari Jo transport the audience into colourful worlds of hybrid styles, abstract landscapes and their fascinating inhabitants. Their works open up narrative spaces in which each visitor can discover their own stories.

Sculptors Thomas Röthel and Hannes Uhlenhaut, known for their impressive works in solid steel and traditional porcelain, surprise us with an innovative series of wall pieces.

Vernissage: Saturday, 3rd February 2024, 6 — 8 pm
