until 22.08. | #5090ARTatBerlin | Galerie Judin shows from Saturday, 4. July 2026 (Opening: 03.07.) the exhibition “Nikification. Niki de Saint Phalle and Germany” by the artist Niki de Saint Phalle.
The exhibition covers Niki de Saint Phalle’s surprisingly deep ties and formative relationship with Germany – an often overlooked yet essential chapter in her artistic journey, which profoundly shaped her practice and her understanding of public space, highlighting key sculptural works she created for Germany.
At the center of the exhibition is Les Trois Grâces, a group of three larger-than-life-sized Nanas conceived in the 1990s for a fountain in Lützowplatz – and as a tribute to reunified Berlin. Although the transformation of the square was never realized, the sculptures have stood the test of time – and are among Saint Phalle’s final major works.
Through archival materials and key sculptural works, “Nikification” traces how Germany shaped Saint Phalle’s artistic trajectory – from controversy to international acclaim – and invites a renewed look at a relationship that has long been underrepresented in art history.
The exhibition is presented in collaboration with the Niki Charitable Art Foundation. It will be accompanied by a catalogue published by Verlag der Buchhandlung Walther und Franz König.
Opening: Friday, 03. July 2026 from 6 until 8 pm.
Exhibition dates: Saturday, 04. July – Saturday, 22. August 2026
