Kubra Khademi | Women in simple situations | Jarmuschek + Partner | 09.10.-21.11.2026

until 21.11. | #5176ARTatBerlin | Jarmuschek + Partner shows from Friday, 09. October 2026 (Opening: 08.10.) the exhibition “Women in simple situations” by the artist Kubra Khademi.

Her female nude figures lie on a rug with their arms outstretched, are chatting over tea, are menstruating, or are fighting with a cat over a phallus. Through erotic and humorously idyllic scenes, Kubra Khademi draws viewers’ attention not only to the oppression of women in Afghan society, which she has experienced firsthand. The artist also holds up a mirror to her audience—regardless of their background or location—and highlights how dependent the body and individual lives are on political contexts and social structures. Her works raise questions that could bring us a step closer to freedom.

Opening: Thursday, 08. October 2026, 6 – 9 pm.

Exhibition dates: Friday, 09. October until Saturday, 21. November 2026
