Kristina Schuldt > 6. Februar – 10. Februar 2018

Opening: On every first day between 05:00 – 08:00 p.m.

For her work, Kristina Schuldt draws from a repertoire of forms and styles that you will encounter everywhere: reading art-historical illustrated books on Dutch genre painting or constructivism and cubism of the 20th century, leafing through gossip newspapers, watching people on the street their smartphones, at work in the garden. Her paintings evoke memories of a canon already seen, smoothly polished body surfaces or wavy hairs of Fernand Léger’s machine-people, for example, or Pablo Picasso’s strangely deformed and multi-perspective portraits, developing their own life and energy, not least through the use of strong colors like pink or bright blue.

The titles are ambiguous and misleading, they set a direction without wanting to reveal too much. She uses them like an extra color and finds them by running the image back again like a path, looking for the trigger.

Vernissage: Tuesday, 06. February 2018, 5 – 8 p.m.

Exhibition period: Tuesday, 06. February to Saturday, 10th Febuary 2018
