Kevin A. They are characterized by an exciting expressive aesthetic between realism and abstraction, the art of Kevin A. Rausch draws on many sources of inspiration, Rausch relies on a mixture of many influences.

Transitions between ‘High and Low’ are characteristic. The rapid mix of his pictorial language of art, underground, street art and punk design elements reveals references to the young protest culture.

His painting process is, as Rausch once said, “a painting, painting on, painting away, painting over, and applying and removing”. Rausch’s paintings are “sedimentations of materiality”, formulated the Austrian art historian Florian Steiniger. And indeed, some pictures appear as if another dimension penetrates the consciousness from the deep layers – or as if traces of memory emerge from the surface beneath the layers of paint, like enigmatic archaeological artefacts from a bygone era.
Vernissage: Thursday, 21st March 2019, 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.

Exhibition period: Friday, 22nd March – Tuesday, 30th April 2019
