until 15.02. | #2656ARTatBerlin| Galerie Inga Kondeyne – Raum für Zeichnung shows from 10th January 2020 the exhibition Lichtungen – Gewichtungen with works by the artist Kazuki Nakahara.

Kazuki Nakahara’s close-meshed, linear networks – drawn with crayon over large-format paper – attract a great deal of attention. Signs that at first glance cannot be deciphered are woven into his mostly horizontally flowing, often overlapping line worlds. These in turn open up into long, rambling structural formations with linear condensations, which atmospherically play around light zones and currents. Patterns of movements are explored in interaction and opposition, in collision or disappearance on levels of the surface newly conquered by him. A remarkable cosmopolitanism is spread out graphically on the white papers.

On 6 November 2019 the artist was awarded the XII. Egmont Schaefer Prize for Drawing from the Berliner Kabinett e.V. (Winner exhibition in cooperation with Galerie Parterre Berlin from 8 May to 28 June 2020).
