until 18.12. | #3231ARTatBerlin | oqbo – raum für bild wort ton presents from 6th November 2021 the solo-show ANWANDELN by the artist Julia Ziegler.
The title invites thought games. Whoever has an impulse is strangely seized, acts impulsively and unplanned, guided by intuition, which likes to disregard rules. Verbs ending in “…eln” often describe something vague, moving in loops and harboring play and chance – prancing, gyrating, tickling…. The title includes the words “on, wall and change”, which can be bundled into a purposeful activity.
Julia Ziegler dedicates this solo exhibition at oqbo to no homogeneous group of works, but installs works on paper with different motifs and materials. Triggered by fleeting moments of looking, they concentrate on one aspect, single moments and impressions are in the foreground. Based on a photograph or a memory, they are images that are based on a concrete situation. The exhibition space is painterly changed, claims new circumstances, to be somewhat larger or to have an adjoining room. The pictures as protagonists play along.

The installation in the basement refers to the performance “DIE LATERNEN DER MARLENE”, which took place as a tribute to Marlene Poelzig in September 2021 at the Haus des Rundfunks on the occasion of the KunstimBau festival for the 90th anniversary of the house.
