Johannes Schenk (1941-2006), grew up in Worpswede, ship’s boy at the age of fourteen, sailor, six years later on his own ship (a converted lifeboat) to the South Seas, dishwasher, gardener, bookseller, stevedore, road worker, stage technician at the Schaubühne, writer. Wrote poems, novels, stories and plays. Lived in Berlin since the 1960s and in a circus wagon in Worpswede.
