Interiors | Group Exhibition | Galerie Guido W. Baudach | 02.03.-13.04.2024

until 13.04. | #4214ARTatBerlin | Galerie Guido W. Baudach currently shows the exhibition Interiors by the artists Aïda Ruilova, Bjarne Melgaard and Rashid Johnson.

A folding screen, a sofa and a carpet with a television on it showing a film. The components of the exhibition Interiors are reminiscent of living room furnishings. The reference to furniture and furnishings, to their domestic, social and symbolic function as well as to the various associations and projections that subjectively connect us with them, is the most obvious common feature of the works by Aïda RuilovaBjarne Melgaard and Rashid Johnson, which can be seen here in a juxtaposition. The works are also united by the fact that they were all created at a similar time, between 2007 and 2010, and by artists who, like Ruilova and Johnson, either live permanently in New York or, like Bjarne Melgaard, were temporarily based there at the time of production. Otherwise, however, it is the differences that predominate. Too distinct are the respective artistic concepts and strategies.

Opening: Friday, 1. March 2024, 6 – 8 pm

Exhibition dates: Saturday, 2. March until Saturday, 13. April 2024
