In her solo exhibition IN / TENSION, Berlin-based artist and architect Gabriele Sauerland explores the expressive boundary between figuration and abstraction. Navigating emotional tensions, inner impulses, and the delicate balance between control, change, and self-preservation, Sauerland’s large-scale paintings embrace eruptive physical forces directly within the material.
Informed by her architectural background, her practice treats canvas not as static representation, but as a dynamic counterpart in physical space, inviting viewers into an open dialogue between spatial form and internal psychological states.
Opening: Thursday, 23. October, 6 – 9 pm.
Exhibition dates: Wednesday, 22. October – Saturday, 21. November 2026
