until 20.10. | #3182ARTatBerlin | Galerie mutare presents from 20th September 2021 (Opening: 24.09.) a solo exhibition with paintings by the artist Christine Jackob-Marks as part of the gallery project “Die neue Brücke – durch Chaos und Ordnung zur Freiheit”.
Christine Jackob-Marks, born in Mainz in 1943, studied painting at the free Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris and the Hochschule der Künste (HdK) West Berlin, then educational sciences at the Freie Universität (FU) Berlin, where she worked at the youth psychiatric service in Zehlendorf.
In her second marriage she was married to the American Jewish pianist Alan D. Marks. Since 1984 her works have been shown in solo and group exhibitions. She taught at the HdK and at the Thuringian Summer Academy. In 1995 she and other artists won first prize in the competition “Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe” in Berlin; however, the group’s concept was not realised. Jackob-Marks lives in Berlin and Ibiza.
