bis 01.04. | #3764ARTatBerlin | Galerie Kewenig Berlin presents from 28 January 2023 (opening: 27.01) the exhibition “Sentiero” by the artist Beatrice Caracciolo..

KEWENIG presents Sentiero, Beatrice Caracciolo’s first exhibition at the gallery.

The works of the Italian artist Beatrice Caracciolo (born 1955, São Paulo, Brazil) oscillate between figuration and abstraction, drawing and painting. Her depictions, which meander across the paper in delicate lines, refer to ancient myths or to works by old masters. Her compositions seem like forms in motion, determined by controlled lines and spontaneous marks that give them a voluminous depth. Caracciolo’s graphic approach is also reflected in her constructions of zinc sheets, which, assembled as collages, refer to history and at the same time carry the ambivalence of their raw materiality.

Beatrice Caracciolo’s works are in public collections such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, the Centre Pompidou, Paris, the Yale University Art Gallery, New Heaven, and the Académie de France à Rome – Villa Medici, Rome.

Vernissage: Friday, 27 January 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Ausstellungsdaten: Saturday, 28 January until Saturday, 1 April 2023
