until 10.06. | #2028ARTatBerlin | Atelier Hinrich Kröger shows from 27th April 2018 the exhibition “стиль” by the artist Hinrich Kröger. During Gallery Weekend the gallery will be open from 1 to 7 pm.
A French bulldog on a wall plate, painted in gold and turquoise, peered lustfully at a service around which golden pugs drape. In the shop window, royal poodles with raspberry-red nose sniffing on a floor vase, while Luigi next to it in a stripper pose and with a tattooed, aroused Gemächt – the center of the sculpture – on a kind of golden cake rotates. Greyhound ladies and charmers wear it in the atelier Hinrich Kröger ‘Old Fashionable Haute Couture’, painted on faience, engobe, clay and porcelain, exhibited in Berlin and New York City.
Since 1995/96, the works of the artist and potter Hinrich Kröger have been produced at Gipsstraße 13 in Berlin-Mitte – paintings on ceramics, sculptures made of clay and porcelain, drawings. The Berliner learned the profession of potter, worked in various ceramics workshops and then studied painting at the College of Fine Arts. After graduating, he founded his gallery and workshop in today’s gallery district of Berlin’s center. Here Hinrich Kröger shows his works in numerous exhibitions.

Skillfully, the artist combines elements of painting with sculptural forms on fragile material. Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, balloon large cans on which sunken worlds are modeled, white lions, snow bunnies clad with cigar and magnificent scarves, tattooed youths and expensive girls, sailors, paradise trees, crash into the planes – a cosmos at the highest level of craftsmanship, each one Single piece and made in these rooms, turned, modeled, glazed, painted, gilded, some pieces burned up to eight times. Hinrich Kröger enjoys international attention. Eccentrically beautiful as the ladies on his cocoa service “Moulin Rouge” is partly also his audience. The coconut box with a golden skull met a Japanese diva and a floor vase painted with panthers and tigers now accompanies a beautiful and world-famous pianist. The works of Hinrich Kröger can be found in numerous public and private collections in Europe and the United States, as well as in the Berlin Reichstag.
For the Gallery Weekend 2018 Hinrich Kröger will present the exhibition “стиль”. On Gallery Weekend (27.-29.04.2018) the special opening hours are 13:00 – 19:00 / 1-7pm.
