until 28.06. | #2485ARTatBerlin | rk – Galerie for contemporary art in the Rathaus Lichtenberg is currently showing the exhibition ” Bilder. Geschichten – Schichten. Bilder” with paintings, drawings, objects by the artists Andrea Lein and André Bauersfeld, both from Berlin.
On display are paintings and drawings by Berlin artists Andrea Lein and André Bauersfeld. Composition, surface division, colour design, rhythm, pictorial grammar, foreground and background, lines, contrasts – these classical basic values of art, which are almost frowned upon in contemporary art today and rarely explicitly mentioned, are the main focus of this exhibition. In the 1980s, both artists studied ceramics at the Kunsthochschule Halle-Burg Giebichenstein, Andrea Lein studied free art and painting, André Bauersfeld studied ceramics. So it is not surprising that Bauersfeld would like to show not only drawings but also some wall objects. And on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus this year, he specially reconstructed a ceramic light temple by Bauhaus artist Otto Lindig, of which only a 1920 photograph has survived.
