artspring berlin 2018, the weekend of open studios in Pankow, Prenzlauer Berg and Weißensee, opens on May 25th and invites on 26th and 27th May to the studios of around 250 artists in the district. Connected to artspring berlin in 2018, the exhibition artspring central in the Museum Pankow is already running.
Connected to artspring berlin in 2018, the artspring central exhibition at the Museum Pankow has been running since April 25, 2018 with works by 197 artists participating in artspring. artspring berlin 2018 got off to a great start with artspring central and met with great interest among the guests, the people in charge of culture and politics and the artists themselves.
We want to use the energy, the attention and the active participation for a podium discussion. It is about making the different initiatives, actions and ideas around the studio situation in the district visible. And we want to enter into an exchange of experience. How do the individual studios and studio houses and communities deal with their situation? What ideas are there to ensure their preservation? Where are deteriorations of the leases foreseeable, where does new things arise? Above all, we want to get into conversation and create an overview. It would be great, of course, if one comes to formulate common thoughts and strengthen networking. It’s about imponderables and uncertainties, but also about strategies and ideas around the preservation of our job opportunities.
No actual state without a past – and that of the Pankow district and in particular the Prenzlauer Berg in terms of art scene is one of the legend of the city. Together with the time-historically oriented Museum Pankow we want to look back on 30 years of development in the district. In 2019, the fall of the Berlin Wall will be the 30th anniversary, and a presentation on the art scene is planned. So who has something to tell about earlier, who has something to report on today and who has an idea where this all should lead, is invited to participate in the conversation. And of course all interested people too.
