until 01.12. | #0838ARTatBerlin | Gallery Gerken shows from 21st October 2016 the exhibition “Stammbaum” by the artist Armin Göhringer.

In archaic grace, Armin Göhringer’s wooden sculptures are fighting for their inner balance : the tree is arranged into heavy blocks, connected by bridges centering and holding them. It is a sounding and trying out of physical possibilities and an introduction to feasibility. Heaviness and loading are addressed and united into a compositional dramaturgy. Göhringer operates at the margin of statics and hereby creates images of emotions, connections of elements and relations of possibilities that are strongly associative, being applicable to intimate human existence as well as the amplitude of the universal.

12th of November 2016, 4 p.m.:

The sound artist Wilfried Kirner educes sounds and rhythmic cycles from Armin Göhringer’s sculptures, which then are converted into movements by dancer Katharina Resch. The sculptures of the exhibition serve as a source of inspiration for this performance.
