until 28.10. | #0730ARTatBerlin |  Galerie Friedmann-Hahn shows from the 8th September 2016 the exhibition From New York City with Love – Part III by the artists Anne Leone and Daniel Ludwig.

Anne Leone, born 1960 in L.A., studied at Boston University  (BA of Fine Arts) and at University of Cincinnati, Massachusetts where she completed her studies with a Master of Fine Arts. The works of Anne Leone are part of the genre of figurative painting. Anne Leone is fascinated by the light and flirring movements of under water sceneries which she catches masterfully in her paintings. It is also the lightness of being, feeling free and weightless, carried by the water. Out of this world and in a kind of utopical harmony. In times of refugees fleeing their countries caused by war and persecution her paintings are a pause, tender and melancholic.

Anne Leone had several Solo Exhibitions, e.g. at Cadogan Contemporary, London, New Bedford Art Museum Massachusetts, Cotuit Centre for the Arts Massachusetts, Southern Ohio Museum Portland, Fuller Art Museum, Brocton, Georgetown University Art Museum, Picket Gallery, KY, Friedmann-Hahn Gallery, Berlin

Daniel Ludwig, born 1959 in Denver, Colorado, studied at Rhode Island School of Design (BA of Fine Arts) and at University of Cincinnati (Master of Fine Arts). He worked as Associate Professor of Art at Salve Regina University.

The picturesque imageries of Daniel Ludwig are inspired by the metaphysical art works of Italian painter Giorgio de Chirico although Ludwig developed his own singular language of painting, using very warm Mediterranean colors and translating the surreal images of a dream world as a contrast of the “real world” in the USA with actual issues the US-election, Trumpism and devastated inner cities like Detroit, Birmingham and Connecticut.

Daniel Ludwig had solo shows e.g. at Fuller Art Museum Broxton, New Britain Museum of American Art, Frye Art Museum Seattle, Alan Stone Gallery New York, Virginia Lynch Gallery, Newick Park Gallery, UK, Friedmann-Hahn Gallery, Berlin.

Vernissage: Wednesday, 7th September 2016, 07:30 p.m.
