until 21.08. | #5114ARTatBerlin | BBA Gallery shows from Friday, 14. August 2026, the exhibition “State of play” by the artist Thanaghone Wattanasiritham (Ghone).

The exhibition State of Play brings the work of four-year-old Thai artist Thanaghone Wattanasiritham (Ghone) to Berlin, presenting the youngest voice from Southeast Asia to ever exhibit at BBA Gallery.

When Ghone stands before the canvas, he paints purely out of the moment. His art emerges through play: inspired by music, free movement, and the unbiased perspective that only children have on the world around them. For him, the canvas becomes a space of pure discovery and experimentation.

Rather than limiting himself to traditional painting tools, Ghone reaches for whatever sparks his curiosity: toys, sponges, natural materials, and organic structures become the instruments of a tactile abstraction. Through stamping, rolling, layering, and pouring, he builds multi-dimensional textures of surprising visual depth and intuitive color composition.

State of Play celebrates this uninhibited creative impulse, asking a question as simple as it is profound: What can we, as adults, relearn from the boundless imagination of childhood?

Bridging Bangkok and Berlin, the exhibition explores how intuitive painting preserves a space of pure possibility, offering a rare glimpse into the visual world of a child.

Opening: Thursday, 13. August, 6 – 9 pm.

Exhibition dates: Friday, 14. August – Friday, 21. August 2026
