until 31.12 | #0948ARTatBerlin | Galerie Crone presents from 10th December 2016 the exhibition “Bein” by the artist Tobias Hoffknecht.
The sculptures and installations by Tobias Hoffknecht are mostly made for a specific place–just like the entitled exhibition „Bein“ has been made especially for Galerie Crone in Berlin. His sculptures do not have a pedestal, but they define precisely the room between the object, viewer, and place. His works are made up of steel, wood and plastic and play with the traditions of the Bauhaus and Minimal Art. Thereby, the objects appear reduced, but they do develope their poetics on closer inspection. This poetics is formed by the material itself and the transformation of learned forming language in new contexts.
Hoffknecht was born in Bochum (1987), Germany, and finished a university degree at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf at Rosemarie Trockel in 2013. His works have been shown in various solo and group exhibitions in Spain, the Netherlands, Brazil, Greece, Italy and Germany. His solo exhibitions in the Kunstverein Bochum and in the Museum Morsbroich in Leverkusen caused great interest and sensation.
Vernissage: Friday, 9th December 2016, 7 to 9 p.m.
Exhibition period: Saturday, 10th December to Saturday, 31th December 2016
