Artwork

“Bildnis einer jungen Frau” was created around 1400. It measures 32 x 47 cm (width x height).

Brief description

The picture is a semi portrait of a young woman. She is wearing white, winged headwear that leads down to under her chin, similar material to a nun’s headwear. The mass transfer is attached with golden needles. Her grey, beige dress with complex creases is lying over her breasts. Her cleavage is covered with dark fur. Her hands are over one another, while her ring finger is staffed decorated with golden, gemmed and pearled rings. The glance of her blue eyes are focused on the observer of the picture. Because of the black background, the focus of the picture falls onto her white headwear and her well-proportioned face.

Genre & Material

Painting of the Renaissance. Painted with oil on wood.
